General Manager (Full-Time)
As our General manager of Business Operations, you will facilitate our grand and global impact-driven vision by working as the right-hand to our visionary/CEO. You will coordinate a variety of elements within the business including; investments, tracking and reporting but also be involved in the strategy and operations of key organizations in the portfolio. This leadership role will work closely with the CEO to effectively manage various Executive teams by setting and aligning objectives. This role regularly wears multiple hats while working both strategically and hands-on under pressure in a fast-paced environment driven by tight timelines and aspirational goals. Your responsibilities will range from setting strategic plans to leading teams to break through operational hurdles.
You will identify, create, and lead new opportunities for profitability while working cross-functionally with departments including Operations, Finance and Legal to fiscally optimize and deliver exceptional results. This will include; recruiting key people and board members, developing communication plans, brand operations, government relations and/or being involved in recruiting investors or supporting a capital raise. There will be a high degree of diversity in this role including stepping in to cover leadership shortcomings and support critical projects. You will work with the company’s CFO to organize, validate and audit budgets as well as review financial statements in a complex, multi-business, multi-national tax structures. Engaging in the investment side of the business you will, review new investments you will place direct investments and work with and support third-party funds. You will work with our legal department to define key areas of risk and develop operational plans. Working with the administrative team, you will host stakeholder meetings, events and parties. As the right person for this role you have a deep and nuanced understanding of business, a passion for the greater good, and a fearless and creative approach to seemingly impossible challenges.

  • 10 years management experience and 5 years in a General manager role – vision, communication, general management, performance coaching, financial management, onboarding and restructuring at the executive level
  • Deep experience in recruiting a diverse set of roles at a wide range of experience levels including world class technical professionals and board members
  • 5 years experience in branding, marketing and communications plans with a focus on public relations and public affairs.
  • MBA / similar designation or relevant experience
  • History of working with high performance leaders in operations, recruiting, General Manager and/or high level executive support roles with innovative driven leaders
  • Ideally you have owned and ran your own business
  • Have worked on branding and communications and have familiarity with public relations
  • You are incredibly capable at identifying key resources for challenges internally or externally 
  • Understand how to read financial statements and can work with finance professionals to ensure accuracy
  • You have a familiarity and comfortability with technology
  • You are positive and optimistic with high emotional management skills. You know business and can be taken seriously, but have fun even in high stress situations.
